Link Hoarding

Link hoarding is the practice of building as many inbound links to one's own website and at the same time refraining from giving outbound links. People mistakenly think that link hoarding will maximize their website's rank because they believe that outbound links "drain" their own page rank. Googler John Mueller rebutted this approach when he said "links from your site to other people's sites isn't [sic] specifically a ranking factor. But it can bring value to your content."
