Website Rank Distribution



The Website Rank Distribution report displays the number of keywords ranking in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and up to 50+ position in the SERPs. Additional domain metrics include a score representing the overall strength of the domain, visibility score, Majestic and Ahrefs backlink data, and social signals for the primary domain and tracked competitor sites.

Analyze Competitors' Rank Distribution

Select multiple domains and switch on the Highlight Primary URL option, to view a competitive website rank distribution report.

The URL list of the primary domain and the tracked competitor sites will display as the Tag/Friendly Names if Landing Page Tag List is recorded in the campaign settings.

Analyze the Rank Distribution of a Single Domain

Select one domain (the primary or a competitor's) to analyze the rank distribution of that site on all of the tracked search engines.

  • Click the calendar icon to select a report date.


Select General Settings

Display

  • Enter a Custom Report Title (optional). This title is centered at the top of the report

Display Rank Columns

  • 1st Rank: the number of keywords ranked in position 1.
  • 2nd Rank: the number of keywords ranked in position 2.
  • 3rd Rank: the number of keywords ranked in position 3.
  • Rank 4 - 10: the number of keywords ranked in positions 4 through 10.
  • Rank 11 - 20: the number of keywords ranked in positions 11 through 20.
  • Rank 21-50: the number of keywords ranked in positions 21 through 50.
  • Rank 50+: the number of keywords ranked 51 or higher.
  • No Rank represents the number of campaign keywords not ranking within the maximum supported results tracked by each search engine (refer to our current list of supported search engines for rank depth and additional information).
  • Score: The Score column represents the overall strength of the domain. This is a legacy metric that is in use by some long-time customers based on their original requirements of a point system for rank positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 through 10, summed and divided by the total number of keywords selected for the report. Our Visibility Score replaced this old metric, however, we allowed the original score to remain for their use.
  • Visibility Score is based on the position of ranking keywords in the top 30 search results, and average search volume. (Learn more...)
Select Domain Metrics

Display Domain Metrics:

  • Majestic Indexed Pages is the domain's total number of pages indexed by Majestic.
  • Majestic Domain Backlinks is the domain's total number of backlinks reported by Majestic.
  • Majestic Citation Flow is a flow metric, which is weighted by the number of citations to a given URL, or Domain.
  • Majestic Trust Flow is a flow metric, which is weighted by the number of clicks from a seed set of trusted sites to a given URL, or Domain.
  • Ahrefs Indexed Pages is the domain's total number of pages indexed by Ahrefs.
  • Ahrefs Domain Backlinks is the domain's total number of backlinks reported by Ahrefs.

Display Social Signals

  • Facebook: the number of times that site pages have been liked or shared.
  • Pinterest: the number of times that site images have been pinned on Pinterest.

  • Sort Field: select report column that you want the report sorted by.
  • Sort Direction: select the sort direction of the sort field, ascending or descending.
Keyword tags

Keyword Tags

  • Select the Tag(s) to be included in the report: use the All or None link for quick selection or individually check the boxes beside the keyword tags.

Important: Refer to Tag Manager for more information about creating Keyword Tag Groups and Tag Options.

  • If you want a green highlight over the primary domain in the report, enable Highlight Primary URL .
  • Select the website(s) to be included in the report (use the All or None link for quick selection).

  • Select the search engines you want included in the report.
  • Use the up and down arrows to reorder the display of search engines in your report.

  • Click the Apply Changes button.
Save As Default Settings (if desired).
