RankBrain is a machine-learning artificial intelligence system whose main role is to interpret search queries in order to understand user intent and then provide the appropriate search results. RankBrain can handle words or phrases that it has never seen before by predicting which words or phrases might have a similar meaning based on its analysis of historical searches.
